November 2017 meeting minutes

BUSINESS
Lynn welcomed the group.  Meeting moved to Starbucks as community room at the bank had been double booked.

Plans for holiday party and swap were reviewed. 

November 30th is the last day for QuiltCon entries.  Charity quilt is due the end of January to QuiltCon.

Small Piecing class with Chawne Kimber on November 12th was discussed. 

Cobblestone quilt show will be held on March 9-10 at the Omar Shrine Temple in Mt Pleasant.  Entries must be postmarked no later than January 11.  Registration form can be found on http://cobblestonequilters.com/show.htm.

Our last QuiltCon charity quilt will be entered into the silent auction with money going to a local charity.

Elections/appointments will be held at the January meeting.  Our current nominations are -
President - Whitner
Vice President - Geri
Secretary (includes Membership) - Alice
Treasurer - Tamie

We also need to appoint committee heads for charity, swaps and programs committees and have all members sign up for a new committee.

REMINDER - Victoria Findlay Wolfe is scheduled to teach in October 2018.  More information to follow.

SHOW AND TELL

Karen made placemats from the blocks she received in the JK Modern Quilt Camp swap.

Cheryl made these May Chappell clutches as gifts.

Colleen finished up her quilt that was accepted for QuiltCon 2018 in Pasadena.  

Congratulations, Colleen!!

Jenifer showed off a flying geese quilt she made for a family member and the quilt she made from her JK Modern Quilt Camp swap blocks.

Lisa brought in a Granny Square crocheted afghan she completed.  So snuggly!!

Peggy brought in a binding helper she made that fits over the arm of a sofa.  And she showed us a quilt called "Jurassic Bark" with dogs.  The quilting is of dog bones.

Hope made this great knitted handbag.

Whitner designed this AMAZING quilt for a friend.  We all volunteered to be pattern testers.
