AWESOME! We had ten (10!!!) people at last night's meeting. It was encouraging to see so many people at the table this time. We had one brand new face (Helllllllo Kelly!) and lots of old pals.
We started off with introductions and discussed what each of us hoped to get out of the new group. I told everyone about another MQG branch that has opened in Beaufort. We talked about doing a swap with them and maybe making a road trip down to the store where their meetings will be held - Tabby Fabric and Studio. Looks like Rhonda has lots of great fabric down there! We need to come up with ideas about projects we'd like to do in the future and work on setting up a sewing day soon.
We had a few show & tell items. I brought two quilt tops I'm working and hope to show finishes at the next meeting. Brenda brought a cute zipper bag made from pet screening! Alice was looking for advice on a hexagon project and Karen brought a gorgeous quilt that was inspired by a quilt she saw at the Folk Art Museum in New York City. Can't wait to see that when it is all done!
Hope to see more faces and more projects next month!!
