Jean Craig, President, called the meeting to order at 6:33 PM. In person attendance was 23 members and 4 guests for a total of 27 participants.
Business / Announcements:
· Jean reviewed the online calendar and noted a few adjusted dates and events. (Calendar link in the right hand column)
· The next Sew Day is June 21 and the meeting is June 24.
· Jean shared a slide about the Sept 18-20 Quiltfest Jacksonville, as info. (quiltfestjax.com)
Committee Updates:
· Programs: Connie Zafiris will be assisting Rachel Cochran with Programs.
· Charity: Kate Weston shared two charity quilts she made and several members also submitted charity quilts. Kate provided 2 kits for members to take, please continue the good work.
· Special Events: The upcoming workshop was canceled. Deposits were returned to those who had registered, either distributed to those at the meeting or mailed to all others.
· Challenges: The upcycle swap resulted in beautiful creations by those participating. The next challenge will involve jelly roll strips, organized by Kathleen Rodgers and Kim McPeake. The fabric collection was postponed until next month. Please bring to the June 24 meeting a yard of fabric or jelly roll strips (2.5”) to be used in quilts for our children's charities. The fabric will be cut into strips and all strips distributed to members to make quilts and tote bags.
Program: Trash to Treasures was a success, raising funds for the Christmas Stocking project to fill the stockings.
The business portion of the meeting adjourned early to allow time for Trash to Treasures.
Many members shared their quilts at Show and Tell.
