Jean Craig, President, called the meeting to order at 06:30 PM with 29 members and 1 guest in attendance.
Business / Announcements:
· The calendar was reviewed:
o The next monthly meeting is Nov 11, which includes the 2026 board election & “Making Large Fabric Bows” by Angie Tirpak.
o There are no Sew Days for the remainder of 2025.
· The QuiltCon 2026 deadline for submission and member discount registration is Oct 31.
· Jean shared an email received from CE Williams seeking assistance for an after-school quilting club. If interested in assisting, please contact Jean for more information.
· Dates (previously) provided by Linda Ambrose:
o Cobblestone Quilters Show is Fri-Sun, Mar 20-22, 2026 at the Trident Tech Convention Center. Quilt submission deadline for quilts is Jan 10 and intake is Mar 16. For more info, visit the website at: https://cobblestonequilters.com/cobblestone-2026-celebration-of-quilts-fiber-arts-show/
Committee Updates:
· Outreach: Many members displayed their charity quilts, bags, and pillowcases.
· Swaps and Challenges: The Color Challenge was presented by Rose Bernard, Kim McPeake, and Rick Sanchez. Each participant received 3 paint chip colors, and the 3 colors are to be used in the quilt. The quilts are due at the Jan 27 meeting.
· Christmas Stockings: stockings were collected for Sanders Elementary and are due by the Dec 7 Christmas party. Each member who makes a stocking receives an entry for a door prize.
· Sew Days: For Jan 2026, participants may continue to sew a raw edge applique piece. Participation in this project is optional, and members can attend Sew Day and work on their own projects.
· The 2026 board elections will be held at the Nov 11 meeting. Current candidates are Kerry Bevers for President, Phoebe Harrell for Treasurer, Pam Everitt for Secretary, and Jean Craig for member-at-large. We need a candidate for Vice President; please see Jean if interested.
